Pequeña Juana Inés, me encanta tu nombre.

Juana Ines is inspired by Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz. Her habit is black and white, carrying on the chest an «Annunciation» painting, better known as «Nun shield», that should be the same size as her head, very baroque of course.

A friend gave me the idea and the model immediately appeared in my mind. Her structure was already done because it is very similar to that of «Fridita Tehuana», the real challenge was the shield. To make it, I took objects that I already had, step by step, as an improvised dish where you take what you find in the cupboard and in the end, you finish with something delicious. That’s how Juana Ines was born.

Little Juana Ines, I love your name. I know you love writing and you’re very clever. You were born in one of those moments where is not me who is designing, is “something through me” that wanted you to show up.
